It has already been a week since my illustrator friend Christine Deschamps passed away. My frustration and sadness are immense as I stuck to the idea of seeing her again after her cancer victory and hugging her. Life wanted it otherwise.
She was a fighter, showing a smiling face to us, despite the circumferences.
We had this common admiration for the warriors in armor, these knightly women, who like her, face up in battle with style.
Christine was a very talented artist, an ally, who supported and encouraged me. She liked my female characters, which is why it was obvious that I fully integrate her into my series of women (heroines) and familiars.
This is my way of paying homage to her, portraying her with her adoring cats.
I think very strongly of Maëva, her great love.
